Why does a 3kW system get the maximum ₹1 lakh subsidy?
Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the Government provides ₹30,000/kW for the first 2kW and ₹18,000/kW for the 3rd kW = ₹78,000. Eligible Tamil Nadu homes also get the ₹22,000 state top-up (G.O. 102) for 3kW and above, so the total is up to ₹1,00,000. Installing 4kW or 5kW does NOT increase the subsidy - so 3kW gives the best subsidy-per-rupee value.
Can a 3kW system make my TNEB bill zero?
Yes - if your monthly consumption is around 300-400 units, a 3kW system generating 12-15 units/day will exceed your daily consumption. Your bill reduces to only the fixed charges (typically ₹120-₹180 for a residential connection).
How long does the full installation take?
After signing the contract and subsidy documentation, our team completes physical installation in 1-2 days. The TNEB net meter upgrade takes 30-45 additional days, after which the system is fully operational and earning export credits.
